Program management at ComPsych is an enablement function: the job is to make it easier for teams to deliver value by removing friction in people, process, technology, and tools; naming problems plainly and owning them toward resolution rather than escalating them away; and defending the processes that help teams work well while killing the ones that don't. The Program Manager, Technology is one of three leadership roles accountable for a product development group, alongside a product leader who owns what gets built and why, and an engineering leader who owns how it gets built and the health of the systems underneath it. This role owns how the work flows — and, paradoxically, its effectiveness is measured by how much less the teams need it over time. AI is a fundamental part of how ComPsych works, and this role is expected to embrace and help lead the evolution of agile structures, processes, and ways of working as AI changes the constraints on delivery. 

• Run multi-team planning: convert roadmap intent into a sequenced, capacity-aware view of what the group can commit to and what it cannot, and re-plan early, with options attached, when reality diverges. 

• Own the group's operating rhythm: the cadence of planning, review, demonstration, and retrospective that keeps sub-teams synchronized, ensuring every recurring ceremony answers ‘what decision does this enable?’ 

• Hunt friction and delay: find the handoffs, queues, approval bottlenecks, and environment delays slowing the group, and lead the work that removes them. 

• Drive dependencies to resolution inside the group and across its neighbors, bringing a proposed path forward with every risk raised rather than only cataloging risks. 

• Make trade-offs explicit — what is gained, what is given up, and what it costs to defer — then drive them to a decision, saying no or not yet to work that doesn't fit the priorities, backed by data. 

• Coach the teams continuously on story decomposition, vertical slicing, estimation, Definition of Ready and Done, retrospective quality, and WIP discipline, teaching the reasoning behind a practice rather than the ceremony, and developing the Scrum Masters and delivery leads around them. 

• Make retrospectives produce change, owning that at least one improvement per cycle is tracked to closure. 

• Measure flow and outcomes rather than activity, discontinuing any metric that doesn't change a decision. 

• Orchestrate go-to-market for the group's launches, owning the release calendar and gates and keeping delivery and commercial tracks — marketing, sales, customer success, partner enablement, legal and privacy, clinical and compliance, implementation, and support — moving in parallel from prioritization forward. 

• Embrace change and enable AI workflows, helping lead the discovery of new ways of working as AI reshapes agile structures, processes, metrics, and ceremonies.

• Education: No specific degree required; demonstrated practice is valued over credentials. 

• Self-starter with ability to multi-task and work autonomously 

• Excellent organizational and project management skills 

• Effective interpersonal and communication skills 

• 10+ years of experience in program, delivery, or technical project management, including at least 7 years in software product development, with a track record of orchestrating delivery across multiple teams toward a shared outcome and accountability for results across teams not directly managed. 

• Demonstrated ability to operate as a peer to product and engineering leadership rather than as a reporting function — driving alignment through sound reasoning and visible trade-offs. 

• Systems-level thinking: ability to name upstream demand, downstream consumers, and the current bottleneck, and to target improvement work at the bottleneck rather than the loudest complaint. 

• Fluency with flow metrics — cycle time, work in progress, throughput, blocked and wait time, predictability, deployment frequency — and a track record of using data to change how the system works, not just to narrate status. 

• Experience carrying launches, not just releases, including coordinating cross-functional go-to-market readiness alongside software delivery and piloted or staged rollouts. 

• Comfort holding multiple plausible scenarios open under ambiguity, committing decisively once evidence supports a direction, and changing course when the evidence says to. 

• A coaching orientation: ability to teach the reasoning behind a practice rather than police the ritual, and to read teams accurately enough to know what each needs next. 

• Also valuable, though not required: experience as a Release Train Engineer, Solution Train Engineer, delivery lead, or Agile coach (SAFe or non-SAFe); experience supporting a long-lived product group rather than a series of discrete projects; experience in healthcare, behavioral health, or other regulated environments; experience helping an organization move from project-based delivery to flow-based ways of working; and experience building DORA and SPACE metrics in Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms. Certifications are welcome but not required. 

• FLSA Exemption Basis 

• This role is classified as exempt under the administrative exemption. The Program Manager's primary duty is the performance of office work directly related to the management and general business operations of ComPsych, and includes the exercise of discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance, including multi-team planning, prioritization trade-offs, dependency resolution, and go-to-market sequencing. The role operates as a peer to product and engineering leadership rather than in a reporting capacity to them. Exemption status should be confirmed periodically against then-current federal and state wage and hour law.

• The salary range for this position is $125,000-$150,000 (USD). The base salary range represents the anticipated low end and high end of the range for this position. The actual compensation will be influenced by a wide range of factors including, but not limited to previous experience, education, pay market/geography, and scheduled hours.
