Job Summary

HealthChampion® is a product under the Health & Well-Being department designed to help clients effectively navigate their medical plan and benefits. The Registered Nurse (RN) provides telephonic support to customers seeking guidance on health and medical questions. This position is responsible for delivering evidence-based information, education, and resources to promote customer well-being and support informed health decisions. The RN ensures that all interactions are handled with clinical competence, professionalism and adherence to organizational and regulatory standards.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide personalized guidance and information to address clients’ specific health concerns.
  • Explain medical diagnoses and treatment options in clear, understandable terms.
  • Conduct research and review of medications to support informed health decisions.
  • Prepare clients for office visits, tests, and medical procedures by outlining what to expect.
  • Research and identify appropriate Specialty Care Physicians as needed.
  • Utilize healthcare resources to answer questions concerning a wide range of medical topics.
  • Discuss and recommend suitable treatment options based on evidence-based information.
  • Assist with developing a list of questions for the client to ask the doctor regarding upcoming treatments.
  • Educate clients on available programs, benefits, and resources provided through their employer.
  • Assist clients in understanding and maximizing the use of their health plan benefits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

  • Education: Registered Nurse from Accredited Nursing Program required
  • Current active nursing license in state of practice required
  • Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in an acute care setting: medical /surgical, pediatrics, emergency services, preferred.
  • Strong understanding of medical insurance terminology and benefits
  • Ability to provide basic triage guidelines to process calls
  • Detail oriented
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills

 

Other Requirements

  • Consistent and reliable high-speed internet and workspace free from distraction, disruption, or noise is required
  • Ability to be present on camera during work-related trainings, meetings, and/or events
  • Must be able to sit or stand at a desk for prolonged periods while working on a computer
