Job Summary

The Account Executive is a key leadership role responsible for driving retention and growth across ComPsych’s AbsenceResources book of business.  They will be responsible for strategic relationship management support as well as serving as a subject matter expert (SME) on our product offerings, with a focus on absence. This senior-level position partners closely with Account Managers to support high revenue customer accounts, provide consultative expertise, and advocate for enhancements in both product functionality and service delivery. The Account Executive will also develop and nurture relationships with brokers, partners, and internal stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction and maximize upsell opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Act as a strategic point of contact and SME for ComPsych’s AbsenceResources product for high-value or complex clients
  • Partner with Account Managers to support key accounts, including participation in executive-level meetings, client planning sessions, and renewal strategies
  • Drive customer retention and identify upsell opportunities within existing accounts through consultative engagement and strong product knowledge
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with key customer stakeholders, brokers, and partners
  • Provide insights and recommendations on product enhancements, service improvements, and process optimizations based on customer feedback and market trends
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives aimed at enhancing the AbsenceResources offering and overall client experience
  • Represent ComPsych in client forums, industry events, and webinars as needed
  • Monitor and report on account health metrics, client satisfaction, and opportunity pipelines
  • Facilitate smooth handoffs and coordination between customer success, operations, IT, and implementation teams
  • Serve as an escalation point for strategic or complex absence-related client issues and resolutions
  • Support appointed finalist meetings as an Account Services expert in lieu of leadership when needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or HR-related certifications (e.g., FMLA, ADA, SHRM) preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in account management, client services, or consulting—preferably in absence management, benefits administration, or employee well-being
  • Proven ability to influence decision-makers and lead strategic account discussions
  • Strong understanding of FMLA, ADA, and other leave-related legislation and compliance practices
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate across departments and work in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
  • Strong business acumen and ability to identify and act on opportunities for revenue growth
  • Ability to travel periodically for client meetings and industry events (10–20%)
