Job Summary

The Compensation Data Specialist will support Finance and Human Resources regarding compensation and data integrity. The role will have ownership and oversight for ensuring commissions are calculated and paid accurately and timely. The role will focus on benchmarking and data to help inform business decisions. This position will report to the Sr. Manager of Benefits and Payroll and have a close partnership with the CHRO and CFO.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Calculate and process sales commissions in a timely and accurate manner
  • Collaborate with finance teams on accruals and reconciliations for variable compensation
  • Prepare financial reports and dashboards related to headcount, compensation and labor spend
  • Support budgeting and forecasting for labor costs, incentive plans and total rewards when needed
  • Research and compare incentive compensation plans offered by demographically comparable organizations; assesses competitors plans and makes recommendations for enhancements or improvements required to keep the organizations plans competitive and effective
  • Prepares and maintains job descriptions for each position and ensures descriptions accurately reflect the work being performed by incumbents
  • Interview and survey employees and managers to gather and document job and organization information including duties responsibilities and skills required by each job
  • Assist with data requests, reporting and documentation required by federal, state and local regulations.
  • Work closely with payroll and benefits team on pay calculations and verification of pay accuracy as well as reconciliation of payroll deductions with benefit enrollment
  • Assist with data configuration
  • Evaluate ways to automate compensation calculations
  • Maintain knowledge of trends and developments in compensation in relevant markets in order to assist with compensation reviews
  • Benchmark jobs to determine completive compensation ranges
  • Evaluates and implements job analysis instruments and materials
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience
  • Strong data analysis skills, ideally within a Human Resources and/or Compensation environment
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel and other date & calculation software(s)
  • Superior communication and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and customer-orientated mindset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a track record of building successful partnerships
  • Experienced working within multiple HRIS systems – Involvement in HRIS implementations a plus
