Job Summary

The Well-Being Coach will consult with clients on topics related to physical and emotional well-being as well as support and contribute to departmental project and program ideation, development, and enhancements.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Connect with clients via phone or video utilizing evidence-based skills and practices
  • Conduct client-led coaching sessions, providing support around physical and emotional well-being topics
  • Well-versed in nationally recognized, standardized health guidelines around nutrition and exercise
  • Work efficiently within a structured and fast-paced environment
  • Identify and provide appropriate resources for clients' presenting issues
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation of cases and metrics in our proprietary database
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the product portfolio (including EAP counseling, work-life, legal, and financial services) and make appropriate cross-referrals
  • Utilize established coaching frameworks including motivational interviewing, active listening, and goal setting to foster self-awareness and sustainable behavior change
  • Comfortable supporting clients navigating complex emotions, focusing on coaching the individual rather than fixing or solving the problem
  • Educate clients about the coaching process and set appropriate expectations within the scope of coaching
  • Facilitate online group coaching sessions, group coaching, and webinars
  • Participate in the development of client education materials and other forms of content creation
  • Contribute to the ideation and development of program enhancements and demonstrate the ability to effectively manage and complete assigned projects
  • Take part in ongoing continuing education and ongoing collaborative peer meetings with fellow coaches
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in physical or behavioral health field required, Master's degree preferred
  • 1-2 years related work experience required
  • Superior active listening and coaching skills and a demonstrated ability to be empathetic to client concerns
  • Recognized Coaching Certifications preferred: Wellcoaches, Catalyst Coaching, NBC-HWC, ICF, Certified Health Education Specialist
  • Additional certifications are a plus: Personal Trainer, Registered Dietitian, Yoga/Meditation Instructor
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Sound judgment and critical thinking skills in order to resolve client issues effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent organizational skills, highly self-motivated, and dependable
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Flexible day and evening hours are required to meet client availability
