Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lead Developer to oversee the development and delivery of software solutions, working hands-on with the codebase while guiding a team of developers. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership capabilities, excellent communication skills, and deep technical expertise in Java, Angular, Spring, SQL Server, and Red Hat JBoss EAP. This role requires a balance between team/project coordination (task assignments, cross-team communication, mentoring) and technical contributions (design, coding, code reviews).  This position does not include any direct reports.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Team & Project Coordination:
    • Collaborate with product owners, business analysts, QA, Infrastructure, DevOps, and other teams to ensure timely and successful delivery of software projects.
    • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and ensure team alignment.
    • Manage task assignments, monitor progress, and assist as needed to meet project and maintenance milestones.
    • Act as the main point of contact for day-to-day cross-functional communication and issue resolution.
  • Technical Leadership:
    • Lead and mentor a team of software developers through the full software development lifecycle.
    • Provide guidance and ensure best practices in coding, testing, and deployment.
    • Perform hands-on development in Java, Angular, Spring, and SQL Server.
    • Conduct code reviews, ensure code quality and promote knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Process & Improvement:
    • Drive continuous improvement in development processes and team performance.
    • Foster a collaborative, supportive, and innovative team culture that is set by team leadership.
    • Participate in release planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of software development experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership or lead role.
  • Strong proficiency in:
    • Java (11+)
    • Spring Framework (Core, Boot, MVC)
    • Angular (v8 or above)
    • SQL Server
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Solid understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and development best practices.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools, version control systems (e.g., Git), and issue tracking tools such as JIRA

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in regulated or enterprise environments.

Prior experience leading geographically distributed teams.
