Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity in the large and growing segment of healthcare and well-being. As a member of leadership on the ComPsych Business Applications development team, you will work in a dynamic, collaborative, and friendly work environment. You will use your technical expertise to lead design and implementation efforts on projects critical to business stakeholders. Your success will be characterized by outstanding cross-departmental communication and collaboration to deliver quality solutions that meet or exceed evolving business and technical goals.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve as a mentor and technical leader for a development team through the design, development and implementation of software solutions
  • Collaborate with business analysts and business stakeholders on project initiatives and recurring application support concerns
  • Own solutions from a leadership perspective and ensure consistency and adherence to quality development and performance standards
  • Assist in coordination of full-lifecycle development efforts to solve critical business needs
  • Communicate status of project initiatives and bug-fixes/improvements to management
  • Guide technical analysis and development of the most critical and complex application features
  • Translate and communicate technical concepts and terminology to non-technical users
  • Serve as an escalation point for the team and coordinate development team efforts to resolve escalated issues relating to project delivery and/or production systems
  • Participate in production support on a rotation basis
  • Demonstrate leadership and team building qualities to foster a collaborative work environment where integrity, dedication, respect, trust, and conscientiousness are core values

Job Qualifications

  • 8+ years of full lifecycle software development experience with web application development, Java programming, relational databases, and source code control tools
  • 3+ years of experience mentoring a team of software developers
  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent field. Masters of Science preferred.
  • Breadth of knowledge and experience as a full-stack developer with a wide variety of technologies and software solutions with the following preferred:
    • Web technologies: Angular, Spring MVC, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, REST; preferred: Java Server Faces (JSF), Bootstrap
    • Java (JEE) technologies: Java Core, Spring, MyBatis, JAX-RS/JAX-WS; preferred: JPA/Hibernate
    • Database technologies: Oracle PL/SQL, SQL, relational databases, query tuning
    • Other enterprise technologies: Messaging (Apache Kafka), Distributed Caching (Apache Ignite), concepts of micro-services and containerization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to enable collaboration at all levels within the organization, including upper level managers in various business units
  • Preferred: familiarity with reporting tools, such as BusinessObjects Crystal Reports or Jasper
  • Preferred: experience with deployment tools, continuous integration, and processes on Linux and Windows platforms
