Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic Team Lead for our FMLA Claims Team who will supervise and lead a team of Claims Specialists and Experts to administer absence management programs. This leader will work closely with other departments to ensure customer and client satisfaction. This individual will report to the FMLA Customer Experience Manager and must have a strong business acumen, management experience, and leadership ability.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the FMLA Claims Specialists and Experts, duties include but are not limited to: delegating work, making recommendations for hiring, performance management and performance evaluation of assigned staff
  • Partners with internal resources to recruit, develop, lead, engage and manage a high performing workforce
  • Develop, implement, and monitor performance indicators for staff and providing feedback, training, and corrective action as needed
  • Manage the resource allocation of staff to ensure proper staffing and production levels are maintained for processing
  • Review internal controls to ensure proper FMLA/ADA/Workplace Accommodation adjudication within established time frames and guidelines
  • Monitor quality standards consistent with internal goals and federal and state regulations
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase operating efficiency
  • Maintain a positive work environment that supports high performing teams
  • Work closely with IT department to create process improvements
  • Understands and complies with the laws and regulations relevant to the position and services
  • Partner with Account Services on complex customer issues to resolve inquires or complex issues
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with our customers to foster a sense of loyalty and commitment 
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required, advanced degree a plus
  • 2+ years of Claims Management experience required 
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience required
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Training and quality management experience
  • Microsoft Office experience required
  • Experience in absence management or disability management in a corporate or consulting environment, a plus
  • Quick thinking, high energy, positive, and professional, with demonstrated multi-tasking and critical thinking skills
  • Self-starter with ability to multi-task and work autonomously
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skill
  • Must be able to sit or stand at desk for prolonged periods of time while working on a computer
  • Must be able to, push, pull and lift up to 10 pounds at a time
